Bernardo Silva has enjoyed a renaissance season at Manchester City this year, however, the playmaker has reportedly suffered an injury on international duty.

According to Record, the Portuguese star did not train with the Iberian nation yesterday morning. With the report stating that Silva is suffering with myalgia, a form of muscle pain that is common amongst athletes.

The injury could keep Silva out of Portugal’s opening game for November. Fernando Santos face the Republic of Ireland tomorrow before rounding off their FIFA World Cup qualifiers at home to Serbia.

However, it is not yet known if Silva will be fit enough to play in these fixtures. The City star has been one of the Premier League’s best players this campaign, with Pep Guardiola breathing new life into the midfielder.

Indeed, it’s easy to forget that Silva was looking likely to leave Manchester in the summer. With the former AS Monaco star being linked with the likes of Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.

However, Silva remained with City, and this decision has paid off in a huge way, with the Portuguese international arguably being the Manchester giant’s best player this season.
