Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that Bukayo Saka suffered an injury against Tottenham Hotspur.

Saka, who can operate as a winger or as a left-back, started for Arsenal in the North London derby against Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.

The 19-year-old England international was substituted at the half-time interval, but that did not prevent the Gunners from winning the Premier League game 2-1.

Arteta told Football.London about Saka: “No, no it was injury. We don’t know he was feeling his hamstring.”

Bad news for Arsenal

Saka is one of the best and most promising young players in England and is a key figure at Arsenal and a regular in the first team.

It remains to be seen the severity of the injury suffered by Saka, but given that he did not come on for the second half suggests that it was bad.

Arsenal fans will hope that the England international is not on the sidelines for long, as the team need him.

The Gunners still have a chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season and are aiming to win the Europa League.

According to WhoScored, Saka has made 23 starts in the Premier League and has made four starts in the Europa League for the Gunners so far this season.
