Roy Keane blasted Cristian Romero for screaming in the face of Harry Maguire during Tottenham’s 3-2 defeat at Manchester United.
The outspoken TV pundit told Sky Sports Premier League that ‘players take note of that’ and it’s ‘not a good’ look from the Spurs defender.
When Spurs equalised, through a Maguire own goal, the Manchester United player was trying to stop the ball from getting to Romero following a cross from the left channel from Sergio Reguilon.
When Maguire converted into his own net, and he was on the floor, Romero turned over to his counterpart and started to scream in his face.
Sky presenter, Kelly Cates, reminded Keane of Romero’s actions after the game and he didn’t hold back in his criticism.
“What did we think of Romero’s reaction?” asked Cates. “Shouting in his face. He goes over to Harry Maguire, after he scores the own goal, and (screams in his face)?”
Keane responded: “Not good. No, no not good. You get no luck for that. When you are a player. When you are a player, you will take note of that, don’t worry.”
Well, it’s not a good look for Romero because his team ended up leaving Manchester empty-handed.
Cristiano Ronaldo, just like he did during the reverse fixture, struck an outstanding hat-trick – the first since his return to Old Trafford.
Despite Ronaldo being at his lethal best, it doesn’t mean that Spurs didn’t have their chances because they can argue that they were the better side.
But, they just lacked that cutting edge in the final third and it will probably be Antonio Conte screaming and questioning how inconsistent his players are.
