Roy Keane has said on ITV (7:32pm, November 12, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane cannot give any more excuses.

The Manchester United legend has said that Kane needs to get back to basics and start delivering for Spurs.

Keane made the comments about Kane ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifier between England and Albania on Friday night.

England won 5-0.

Spurs striker Kane scored a hat-trick.

What Roy Keane said

Keane said on ITV (7:32pm, November 12, 2021), as transcribed by GiveMeSport: “He’s [Kane] got to liven up, he’s got to liven up.

“He’s got to look at himself and say ‘Get over these disappointments’ – listen, he plays for Spurs he should be used to disappointment, it’s not like they win stuff.

“Get back to the basics, get hold of the ball, show some sort of leadership skills and no more excuses.”

Getting back into form

Albania are a poor opposition.

Let’s not ignore that.

It was not really a massive deal that Kane scored three goals against Albania.

A top-class striker like Kane should be banging in the goals for fun for teams like Albania.

What will be interesting to see if whether the 28-year-old is able to take this form to Spurs.

Kane has been disappointing for Spurs so far this season.

The Tottenham no. 10 has scored just one goal in 10 Premier League appearances this season.

With Antonio Conte now the new manager of Tottenham, the 28-year-old will surely want to step up his game.

Spurs fans will hope that Kane clicks under Conte and starts hammering in the goals.
