Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has claimed the Serie A outfit has yet to receive any “particularly impressive offers” for Tottenham Hotspur target Milan Skriniar while speaking to Sky Italia.
While Spurs appear to be finally making progress in their pursuit of a centre-forward, the chances of a Slovakian centre-back joining Carlos Vinicius in north London look far slimmer than they did a week ago.
Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio reported this week that Skriniar was interested in moving to the Premier League after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho’s old sparring partner Antonio Conte.
But Tottenham’s reluctance to meet Inter’s £55 million price tag means the former Sampdoria stopper is likely to spend at least another few months on the sidelines at the San Siro.
“The transfer market runs for a few more days. I said the other day there has been contact for Skriniar (from Tottenham),” says Ausilio, who has already confirmed Spurs’ interest in the 25-year-old.
“(But) we did not receive any particularly impressive offers and he is not on the market.”

Unless Levy manages to find another £10 million before Monday’s transfer deadline, we can probably draw a line under Tottenham’s pursuit of a man who has gone from guaranteed starter to frowny-faced benchwarmer at one of Italy’s biggest clubs.
FC Inter News reported Spurs were willing to hand Skriniar a pay rise on his £70,000-a-week wages.
