Ian Wright has told the Wrighty’s House podcast that the doesn’t think Tottenham Hotspur forward Gareth Bale has got enough credit for his second goal against Burnley.
Bale was back to his best again on Sunday, as Spurs stormed to a 4-0 victory over Sean Dyche’s side.
The Welsh winger hit the back of the net twice, with most observers lauding Bale’s display.
However, Wright actually doesn’t think Bale’s second goal has earned enough acclaim.
The Welshman controlled the ball with the outside of his foot, before whipping it beyond Nick Pope at the far post.
The finish was made to look fairly simply by Bale, but Wright says that the skill the Tottenham man pulled off was actually extremely difficult.
He said: “The goal that he scored, the second goal – he made it look so easy in the way that he collected the ball with his first touch and finished it, it was so easy everyone is just like ‘yeah Gareth Bale scored, look how much time he had’.
“No, the way that ball came to him and he controlled it with the outside of his left foot, that was not easy.
“I say it a load of times, people who control the ball with the outside of the foot who are not that talented, they mess that up. That touch isn’t perfect.

“Please if you get a chance, if you can appreciate football royalty – that’s what he is.”
Bale is now showing signs that he could well have a vital role to play for Tottenham between now and the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho has spoken very positively about the 31-year-old recently, and it seems that his move back to Tottenham could still be a success, despite the difficulties he experienced in his initial few months after his return to North London.
