Kevin Campbell told Sky Sports that he ‘can’t see’ the fans having some sort of controlling stake in Arsenal if Daniel Ek were to take charge, or even without him.
Not only Arsenal, but many of the top clubs in England’s top-flight now seemingly want more fan representation in the boardrooms.
This comes after that disastrous ploy to try and lure the Premier League’s so-called top-six towards a European Super League, which failed miserably and hit many owners and CEO’s right in the face.
And whilst adding fans into the boardrooms, where they can be a part of the decison-makings of the club and the day-to-day business, would add some much-needed trust.
Highbury legend, Campbell, just cannot see such a situation occurring even if it’s what the fans want.
“I think Mr Ek would look at having some sort of fan connection,” said Campbell. “But these are business deals and we are talking big money here.
“So, to be able to have the fans controlling, no, I can’t see that happening. Can you even see Kroenke even consider selling?
“The backlash has been heavy, but at the moment, they’ve come out, hardened their stance and said no, they are not selling.”

Well, one thing is for sure, the Kroenke’s would never consider such a move so that one would be a losing battle before it has started if they remained in charge.
But at least, from Ek’s perspective, if he can take over the club then there would be a willingness on his part.
At the end of the day, unlike the American owners, he is a boyhood fan and has the club’s interest at heart.
And that’s what the Arsenal fans want. Trust back within their club. Care from top. Owners interested in the club’s well-being and not just how much money is going into their pockets.
