Alfredo Morelos played well in Glasgow Rangers’ win over St Johnstone, though the Ibrox striker’s goalless run continued.

On paper, Alfredo Morelos’ form over the last few weeks appears to have left a lot to be desired, with no goals in his previous four games immediately following a run of eight strikes in just six appearances.
However, based on how the Colombian played in the 3-0 win away at St Johnstone on Friday, it would certainly be incredibly unfair to lament the 21-year-old for the fact that he did not find the back of the net as his overall performance was still extremely impressive.

Morelos’ movement caused the Saints a number of problems throughout the game and left gaps for the likes of Graham Dorrans and Carlos Pena to exploit for the Gers’ goals in the emphatic victory.
The youngster showed a tremendous amount of maturity to work extremely hard throughout the contest, and that will arguably give Pedro Caixinha as much joy as almost any other performance has put in so far.

It certainly appeared to be the display of a striker who is quickly learning his role in the Light Blues lineup, and will provide Caixinha with a huge amount of encouragement moving forward.
And if Morelos continues to play as he did on Friday, his goalless run may potentially continue but the work he does should ensure that Rangers continue to create the chances that will allow them to regularly put opponents to the sword.
