The Leeds United youngster is currently on loan at Accrington Stanley and he is making his mark.
Leeds United have a great young striker on their hands in the form of Mallik Wilks and the teenager is quickly getting used to exciting finishes during his loan stint at Accrington Stanley.
The 18-year-old wasted little time impressing at the League Two side, scoring a 95th-minute equaliser against Notts County last month, and while he did not get on the score sheet this weekend, he was again at the heart of some dramatic late action.
The Leeds youngster came off the bench in the 65th minute with Accrington 1-0 up and he watched as Jordan Clark put the visitors 2-0 ahead in the 90th minute, only for Morecambe to hit back with a consolation strike five minutes later.
Wilks’ temporary side held out to earn three points and the young forward is getting a fine education when it comes to playing to the final whistle.
This is exactly what Leeds would have hoped when they sent Wilks on loan, with the striker getting minutes – albeit off the bench for now – and experiencing all the drama of League Two football.
The Leeds prospect is the real deal and, on early evidence, Accrington is the perfect club for him to develop between now and January. In between do not be surprised if he scores plenty more goals to add to that fine debut effort.
