Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to a video of William Saliba putting in the hard yards during his downtime ahead of pre-season.
The 20-year-old was a huge talking point last season, as Mikel Arteta opted against using the centre-back in Arsenal’s first-team plans, despite their struggles in defence.
Eventually, it resulted in him going out on loan to Nice, where he impressed, and he is now due back in North London in a few weeks.
But recent rumours have suggested that he might not get the chance at Arsenal that he desires and he could be heading for the exit door once more.
Saliba is now seemingly considering his future at Arsenal, as the Gunners pursue a possible deal for Brighton defender, Ben White.
Whether Arteta thinks Saliba is still raw or not ready, Arsenal fans have urged him to, at the very least, give him a shot because he is putting in the hard work to get himself in the best shape possible.
It’s understandable if Arsenal had the defence of the old George Graham days, but they simply don’t.
There are clear problems at the back, so it begs the question as to what Saliba is doing so wrong that it’s not even worthy of him earning one shot at first-team action?
As Arsenal fans have made it clear, he is putting the effort in before pre-season has even begun, so it will be interesting if it’s rewarded at all by Arteta.
