Leeds United are being linked with Racing Club star Matias Zarach and those rumours have come as no surprise to the Argentine outfit’s academy chief Victor Blanco, while speaking to El Intransigente.
With the West Yorkshire giants closing in on a long-awaited return to the Premier League, it seems that Marcelo Bielsa is planning an Argentinian revolution at Elland Road.
In recent weeks, a grand total of four Albiceleste talents have been linked with a move to Leeds, including Tottenham defender Juan Foyth and Norwich City dynamo Emi Buendia.
Now, we can add two more to a growing list.
El Intransigente claimed this week that £20 million River Plate centre-back Lucas Martinez Quarta has been lined up as a potential Ben White replacement.
And Zaracho, the most typical of Argentinian ‘enganches’, could be the man capable of easing the creative burden on a still brilliant yet now-35-year-old Pablo Hernandez.
The 2019 Primeira Liga winner is a player on the rise and, after making his international debut last year, Blanco is fully aware that he won’t be sticking around in South America forever.

“Matias is a player of whom I have no doubts that he is in the sights of European clubs,” Blanco says.
Leeds still have a mountain to climb of course, with Tuttosport claiming back in February that the £23 million-rated Zaracho had said yes to a move to seven-time European champions AC Milan.
But, as any Argentinian footballer will tell you, the chance to work with the legendary Bielsa is one that cannot be missed.
