Kris Boyd has stated that Heung-Min Son is now the ‘main man’ at Tottenham and not Harry Kane, as he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (04/12/21 at 1:20 pm).

The former Scotland international pointed out how Kane hasn’t scored for Spurs in the Premier League since October.

Son was on the scoresheet during Tottenham’s previous game when they beat Brentford 2-0.

Over the years, the £22 million Spurs forward (Mirror) has become a bit of a fan favourite in North London and built quite the partnership with Kane.

The duo combined for the record amount of goals in Premier League history last season, but they haven’t been able to match that form this time around.

Given Son’s recent displays, compared with his partner in crime, Boyd thinks it’s the South Korean who now stands above all of the Spurs players.

“Harry Kane’s last goal was 17th October, away at Newcastle,” said Boyd. “It’s not good enough for somebody of his standards.

“You would still say he is still having an impact on games. But Son, for me right now, is the main man.

“There’s no doubt about it. If you look at it, only Drogba and Lampard have combined for more goals than those two.”

The one big positive Spurs can take from Kane’s woeful form is that they are currently sitting sixth in the table during his season of struggle.

If he can get his engine going, then this Spurs side might just move forward like a steam train.

Conte has been known to transform struggling teams and then turning them into title-winners.

That’s not going to happen in North London this season, but it would be some story if he could get the club into the Champions League because that spot for fourth spot is wide open.
