Italian media have marked Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as the ‘number one public danger’ for Italy when Roberto Mancini’s side face England in the Euro 2020 final.
Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions booked their place in Sunday’s showdown at Wembley with a 2-1 win over Denmark on Wednesday. Kane scored the winning goal with the rebound of his missed penalty kick approaching the break in extra-time.
It marked the 27-year-old’s fourth goal of the tournament after opening his account in the Last 16 victory over Germany. And TuttoMercatoWEB admit Kane will be a big test for Italy having not stopped scoring since netting past Manuel Neuer.

Kane had a lacklustre start to his Euros against Croatia with the England captain’s touch often rather loose. He ended the day without a real chance to his name, and was even more out of sorts against Scotland.
The Spurs star was a shadow of the man who won the 2020/21 Premier League Golden Boot with 23 goals. But Kane restored normal service against Germany and TuttoMercatoWEB admit he will be a test for the experienced Italy backline in Sunday’s Euro 2020 final.
“Since turning on, Harry Kane has never turned off,” they write. The England striker scores again, in the 2-1 over Denmark and will no doubt be the number one public danger for the Azzurri defence in the Wembley final.”
Kane has never beaten Italy icon Chiellini with England or Tottenham
Kane has faced Italy’s iconic centre-half Giorgio Chiellini three times in his career but has been on the winning side. The pair first met in an international friendly that ended 1-1 in March 2015, when Andros Townsend scored England’s equaliser.
Tottenham later faced Chiellini and his Juventus side in the Champions League in 2018, but the Serie A giants eliminated Spurs in the Last 16. Kane scored Spurs’ first in the 2-2 first-leg draw to start a comeback, but the Turin giants won the second-leg.
England will hope it’s fourth time lucky for Kane if they are to beat Chiellini’s Italy and win Euro 2020. But the Italian media already know the Tottenham striker will be the danger man Mancini must plan for. Even if he has yet to beat the Azzurri’s 36-year-old centre-half.
