Harry Redknapp and Neil Warnock have shared their thoughts on the relegation battle and expressed their worries for the likes of Everton, Newcastle, Leeds and Aston Villa, as they told talkSPORT.

Newcastle, Watford and Burnley were the only ones to pick up positive results at the weekend.

English football’s most experienced coach, Warnock, thinks Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa will be ‘thinking’ about the relegation battle after their defeat to Watford.

Whilst Redknapp is in ‘no doubt’ that Newcastle, Leeds and Everton are ‘looking over their shoulder’ regardless of who they have in charge.

“It’s so open,” said Redknapp. “Newcastle have had an incredible run, but they are still only on 22 points. They’re not out of it.

“Everton. Up to Leeds. Brentford. They aren’t out of it. Brentford have played 26 games. I think any one of them teams, I don’t care who is the manager, you are looking over your shoulder. There is no doubt.

“Frank, he got beat at Southampton, he has walked into that dressing room and seen them results coming through. Watford winning away – I think Everton and I look at their team, I think they are bang in the mix. Right in it.”

Warnock added: “Even Steven Gerrard will be thinking about it.”

Aston Villa are sitting 12th in the Premier League table and they are nine points from safety.

Even after the dreadful run of form they have been on, there is still a gap between themselves and those near the bottom.

From a realistic standpoint, Brentford, who are sitting in 14th and on 24 points, will be worried that they might drop.

Despite Everton bringing Frank Lampard to the club, their problems are still pretty evident, whilst Leeds can’t stop conceding and face off against Liverpool tonight.

Norwich have been tipped to go down from the get-go, Burnley showcased that they will fight till the end with their 3-0 win at Brighton on Saturday and Watford won their first game under Roy Hodgson at the weekend.

And despite Newcastle not losing a game in the Premier League since December, there are still four points separating Eddie Howe’s side and the relegation zone.
