Wilshere is out of contract at West Ham in the summer of 2021, but the Premier League club want him gone now, according to the report.
The Hammers reportedly want(ed) to sell the former Arsenal star and get some transfer money in, but there have been no offers for the 28-year-old, described as a player who has “game-changing abilities” by then West Ham Director of Football Mario Husillos in July 2018, as quoted on the club’s official website.
This has led West Ham to start discussions with the England international midfielder over terminating his current contract, according to the report.
Disappointing West Ham United spell
Wilshere joined West Ham on a free transfer in the summer of 2018 after leaving Premier League rivals Arsenal.
The 28-year-old had injury problems during his time at the Gunners, and the midfielder had fitness issues at West Ham as well.
According to WhoScored, Wilshere played just 212 minutes in the Premier League for West Ham in 2019-20, while in 2018-19, he played 389 minutes in the league.
