Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger disagreed over how quick reported West Ham and Aston Villa target Tammy Abraham really is, as they told Sky Sports.
Winger Hudson-Odoi made it clear that there’s ‘no chance’ that Abraham is in the top five quickest players at Chelsea, whilst Rudiger disagreed with his teammate.
The Telegraph recently reported that both West Ham and Villa are named as potential suitors for Abraham in the summer.
And when talking about the pace of Chelsea players, including Abraham, this is what Hudson-Odoi and Rudiger had to say about the one-time Villa loanee.
“Can we just say that Tammy Abraham thinks he’s top five (quickest) in the team,” said Hudson-Odoi. “No chance (is he quick). No chance.”
Rudiger added: “But he’s not slow because one thing he has ahead of everyone is that his legs are longer. He does one step and you do two, so I would not underestimate him. I think he’s definitely in the top five.
A shocked Hudson-Odoi simply responded by saying: “You think?!”
Abraham isn’t exactly earning the minutes at Chelsea that he would like and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he leaves the club in the summer.
If that situation arises, it will be interesting to see if either Villa or West Ham push for his signature because both could do with his talents.
Both Michail Antonio and Ollie Watkins have been outstanding this season, but both Villa and West Ham need that depth if they are to succeed in the long run.
