Lee Hendrie has said on Sky Sports News (2:03pm, October 23, 2021) that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will not leave Ibrox for Newcastle United now.
The former Aston Villa midfielder has suggested that at the moment the managerial job at Newcastle is too big for the former Liverpool midfielder.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that Gerrard is still learning his trade at Scottish Premiership giants Rangers.
The Northern Echo have reported that Rangers boss Gerrard is being considered by Newcastle’s new owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), to succeed Steve Bruce at St. James’ Park.
Hendrie said on Sky Sports News (2:03pm, October 23, 2021): “I know Stevie G got linked with the job. No chance.
“He isn’t leaving Rangers. I think it would be a massive job for him to come into. At the moment, he is still learning his trade.”

Steven Gerrard to Newcastle is unlikely
In our view, Gerrard is not going to leave Rangers for Newcastle.
Not now.
Perhaps in the summer of 2022 or in the coming years, but, no, not now.
No way.

Gerrard is settled and happy at Rangers at the moment, as the Gers boss himself said on Thursday night.
The Englishman is aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title with Rangers for the second season in a row.
The Ibrox club are also in the Europa League.
