Joleon Lescott says he is certain that if Mohamed Salah swapped Liverpool for Aston Villa, then he would struggle.
Regarded as one of the best players in the world, Mohamed Salah, to no one’s surprise, has started the new season in Liverpool colours like a house on fire.
The 31-year-old has scored five goals and supplied four assists – failing to contribute in just one game this season and that was that infamous game at Tottenham.
But what if one of the Premier League’s best donned the colours for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa? Would he put in the same type of performances?
Whilst Villa are in Europe and only one point behind the Reds in the Premier League table. The gulf in quality between the two squads is still big.
And given that Mohamed Salah would play alongside so-called lesser players, Lescott thinks he wouldn’t hit those big numbers, as he told The Filthy Fellas.

Salah at Villa
“Do you think Salah scores the amount of goals for Villa?” asked Lescott.
When the former Manchester City man was told that the Egypt star does for this current Villa side, he responded by saying: “No chance. No chance.
On Diaby’s performances for Villa re Salah: “But Salah isn’t scoring 20 goals.”

Grealish at Villa
When the Treble-winning Manchester City star was at his boyhood club, he well and truly ripped it up as the spotlight was firmly on him and him only.
In Villa’s first season back in the Premier League, he scored eight goals and supplied six assists for an injury-hit and revamped Villa side trying to find its feet.
12 months later, in a far more settled side, he scores six and assists 12 from 26 games.
There is a big difference between that Villa side and the one under Emery now, so you would imagine that if Grealish could hit those numbers with that side, then Salah would well and truly smash it now.
