Berti Vogts believes Celtic have no chance of beating Bayern Munich.
Brendan Rodgers, manager of Celtic
Former Scotland boss Berti Vogts has told The Herald that he thinks Celtic have ‘no chance’ of beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
After making it back to the group stage with qualifying wins over Linfield, Rosenborg and Astana, the Bhoys kicked off their Champions League group stage campaign with a 5-0 home thumping at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.
Celtic bounced back in their last game, hammering Anderlecht 3-0 in Belgium to give themselves a great chance of clinching third place in their group and a subsequent spot in the Europa League.

Brendan Rodgers’ men may still hold out some hope of clinching second place in their group, and face a pivotal double-header with Bayern Munich, which will determine their hopes of a knockout place.
In normal circumstances, Celtic would have little chance of challenging Bayern, but the Bundesliga giants were just beaten 3-0 by Paris Saint-Germain, and sacked manager Carlo Ancelotti the day after.
Jupp Heynckes has returned as manager, but Bayern may be seen as a club teetering on the edge, giving Celtic a chance of defeating them and boosting their knockout hopes.
However, German former Scotland manager Berti Vogts has spoken to The Herald about the game, stating that Celtic have ‘no chance’ of claiming a win at the Allianz Arena, as the game is just too important for Bayern to lose.

Vogts added that he thinks Bayern will actually win both games against Celtic to effectively qualify for the next round of the competition, but Celtic would hope to still be in with a shout of Europa League football.
“I think Celtic has no chance in Munich,” said Vogts. “This really is a must win match for Bayern. If they can’t win their matches against Celtic they won’t reach the last 16 so I am afraid that it is just too important to them.”
“The new coach has come in so I really think it is a bad time for Celtic to play Bayern. In fact, I can see Bayern winning both matches against Celtic, because they know if they win both matches they are through to the next round,” he added.
