Kris Boyd reminded Paul Merson on Sky Sports News (1:32pm, February 27, 2021) that Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are still in the Europa League when he said that Arsenal can win the competition this season.
Former Arsenal star Merson, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Mikel Arteta’s side can win the Europa League this season.
The Englishman pointed out that the Gunners are unlikely to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season and will be determined to go all the way in the Europa League.
Former Rangers striker Boyd, who also works for Sky Sports, pointed out that the Gers are still in the Europa League.
Merson said about Arsenal on Sky Sports News (1:32pm, February 27, 2021): “They have a chance of winning because of their league position. They have got nothing else to play for. They haven’t at the moment.”
Boyd responded: “No chance, Merse. Rangers are still in the Europa League.”

Arsenal or Rangers?
Not many would have expected Rangers to reach the last-16 stage of the Europa League this season.
The Gers will take on Slavia Prague in the round of 16 and will be determined to progress from the tie.
Arsenal will face Olympiakos in the Round of 16, and the Gunners will be under pressure.
Rangers are set to win the Scottish Premiership title this season and will celebrate at the end of the season no matter what happens in Europe.
Meanwhile, The Scottish Sun has claimed that Rangers and Celtic have offered to give £1.5m each to League One and Two clubs in Scotland for places for their youth teams.
