Ronald Reng has ruled out Julian Nagelsmann joining Tottenham Hotspur on the Steilcast podcast, as presented by the Athletic.
Tottenham have been heavily linked with the RB Leipzig boss, with the future of Jose Mourinho seemingly very insecure.
The Telegraph claim that if Mourinho does leave Tottenham then Nagelsmann will be Spurs’ first choice to take over.
But Reng, who is a well connected Bundesliga journalist, insists that the move won’t be happening.
“I think there is no chance at all. I don’t think he plans to leave Leipzig, he hasn’t planned that three weeks ago, but his next stepping stone is definitely not Spurs,” Reng said.

“We are talking about the super-clubs like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Chelsea, these kind of clubs, I don’t see him at Spurs at all.”
Presenter Raphael Honigstein went on to claim on Twitter that the journalist’s claim was a well sourced one, when challenged by Tottenham fans.
That news may come as a blow to many Tottenham supporters, who were excited about the potential of Nagelsmann coming in.
The young Leipzig boss is regarded as one of the very best talents in managements.
And his attacking, high-pressing style would surely be a breath of fresh air for those Tottenham supporters who have complained about Mourinho’s passive football.
