Mikel Arteta has told Football London that there is absolutely no chance that David Luiz starts for Arsenal against Dundalk later this evening.
Arsenal are set to take on Dundalk in the Europa League, with Arteta set to name a much changed line-up for the fixture.
In an ideal world he may have wanted to include Luiz, to help guide some of Arsenal’s younger players through the contest with his experience.
However, the Brazilian has picked up a knock, and Arteta feels that he could be out for a while yet.
“To play Dundalk there is no chance and it’s a big doubt for him to play at the weekend,” Arteta said.

Luiz’s injury comes at a bad time for the Gunners, as their numbers at the back are severely depleted.
It could be that Arteta is forced to switch into a three-man defence tonight, with Sead Kolasinac and Shkodran Mustafi among the contenders to start in the centre of their defence.
Even with their mounting injury issues Arsenal still remain heavy favourites to win later, and if they can pick up the three points they will be in a very commanding position in their group.
