Burnley made a £12 million offer for Middlesbrough centre-back Ben Gibson yesterday, according to a report from Sky Sports News, and Clarets fans took to Twitter to deliver their verdict on the news.

Sean Dyche guided his side to a mightily impressive seventh placed finish in the Premier League table last season, but in order to make genuine progress this term, he undoubtedly needs to bolster his ranks at Turf Moor – something that he is still yet to do this summer.

Sky Sports News claims that the Burnley boss is keen to bring Boro’s Ben Gibson to Lancashire, however, and submitted a £12 million offer for his services yesterday.

The Teesside outfit are unlikely to accept the offer, though, and will surely demand closer to £20 million for the 25-year-old defender’s signature.
