West Ham United fans on social media have been calling for Jesse Lingard to be put back into the England squad after hearing that Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss the Euros.
News broke on Thursday that the Liverpool ace will miss the tournament due to an injury he picked up against Austria, and understandably, the conversation turned towards who should replace the Liverpool man.
West Ham supporters had a clear number one choice, and as you can imagine, they were tipping Jesse Lingard to get the nod.
Hammers fans are seemingly enamoured with Lingard after such an incredible loan spell at the London Stadium, and they want to see him go to the Euros.
To be fair, we can understand the point they’re making, if it’s based purely on form, there are few better choices than Lingard, but in terms of squad balance, there are a few positions that may need a little bit more attention.
Who Southgate picks to replace Alexander-Arnold remains to be seen, but if it was up to West Ham supporters it’s clear that Lingard would be the man to come in.
