Stan Collymore has written in CaughtOffSide that Tottenham Hotspur could lose Cristian Stellini after he led the team to a win against Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.

Stellini was on the touchline for Tottenham in the London derby against Chelsea on Sunday.

Spurs won the Premier League game 2-0.

Stellini is the Tottenham assistant head coach.

The Italian coach is ‘in charge’ of the team due to head coach Antonio Conte recovering from health issues.

Now, while Conte is in constant touch with his coaching staff, Stellini is having more input than he normally would.

And former Liverpool striker Collymore believes that clubs in England would now be taking a keen interest in Stellini.

Collymore wrote: “Cristian Stellini is doing a great job in Antonio Conte’s absence.

“However, the problem for Spurs is, when the manager’s number two gets a taste for the outright manager’s job, they often have their head turned.

“Of course, they’re going to want to experience it more because they’ve had a sample of what it feels like to be the top man – the one in charge – the man who is listened to.

“I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if clubs are looking at him and wondering if he’s worth taking a gamble on.

“I don’t think any clubs in the Premier League, certainly not top-half sides anyway, will be willing to take a chance on him. Still, as for Championship teams, or the equivalent throughout Europe, in my view, it’s a no-brainer for them to be looking at Stellini.”

Nothing to worry about

In our view, there is nothing for Tottenham Hotspur fans to worry about Cristian Stellini.

We do not think that the Italian coach is going to leave Spurs anytime soon.

The 47-year-old took charge of Inter Milan for three matches during the 2020-21 season when Conte was suspended.

Inter won all three of those matches.

Stellini is still with Conte.
