Kevin Campbell has encouraged Yves Bissouma to sign for Arsenal this season on Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports.
Bissouma stood out last night in a drab game between Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton, amid rumours that he wants an Arsenal move this summer.
Football London claim that the 24-year-old would be keen to move to the Emirates Stadium if the possibility presented itself.
And Campbell really hopes that he sees Bissouma in Arsenal next season.
“If you get any change out of £40 or £50 million you’ve done well. He’s that good,” Campbell said.
“He’s young, aggressive, good on the ball and gets about the pitch. Has good energy and we’ve seen with that overheard kick he can have a goal at goal!
“Apparently he’s an Arsenal fan. He’s been in a struggling team, he’s head and shoulders their best player and there comes a time when he needs to move on. This summer is the time.
“For me I think the next level he goes to, he’s got to be going to a team that has ambitions to challenge for Europe or winning trophies.
“Struggling down at the bottom, he’s too good for that. You could see that. He needs to move to a team who if they’re not challenging they have the ambition to challenge, and there’s no better team than Arsenal!”
Arsenal are likely to be in the market for a central midfielder in the summer.
Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi appear to have no futures at the club after their loan spells, doubts persist over Ainsley Maitland-Niles, and Dani Ceballos’ loan is unlikely to be extended for another season.
That means that there is a gap in Arsenal’s midfield, with Mikel Arteta looking for the perfect partner to Thomas Partey.
Bissouma would be making a step up by moving to Arsenal, but all the signs suggest he could handle the jump – and his Premier League experience may well make him a very appealing target.
