Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Diego Llorente has never had a bad game for Leeds United so far.

Llorente joined Leeds in the summer, and his progress at Elland Road has been stalled due to injury.

Llorente suffered badly with fitness problems during the early part of his time at Leeds.

However, he has really begun to prove his worth in recent months and has now nailed down his place in the side.

Llorente has looked at home in the heart of the Leeds’ defence, and his signing is starting to look like a bargain.

Indeed, when Bielsa was asked about how impressed he had been with Llorente, he only had positive words to say about the Spaniard.

“[He has] played well,” he said. “No bad games. Performance level improved every time we play. Started playing well and playing better. Like Koch, in the first part, high points.”

Llorente will surely start for Leeds on Monday night when they take on Liverpool, but he will not be alongside Liam Cooper.

Leeds captain was sent off against Manchester City in their last game, meaning he will be serving a suspension.

Llorente is likely to be put alongside Pascal Struijk at the back as a result.
