Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not play against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United at Elland Road, as quoted in Football.London.

Aubameyang did not play for Arsenal against West Ham United in the Premier League in midweek.

The Arsenal striker was punished for a disciplinary break.

Arteta has also stripped the 32-year-old striker off the captaincy.

And the Arsenal boss has now said that Aubameyang will not play against Leeds this weekend.

No Aubameyang v Leeds United

Arteta told Football.London when asked if Aubameyang available for the match against Leeds: “No he’s not available for selection.”

What next for Aubameyang?

Arsenal won against Southampton last weekend without Aubameyang.

And the Gunners won against West Ham in midweek without Aubameyang.

Now, it has been only two matches, but the signs are that Arsenal do not have to rely on the Gabon international striker.

So, in our opinion, it makes sense for Arteta not to include the striker in his squad for the match against Leeds.

What next then for Aubameyang?

Does the former Borussia Dortmund striker still have a future at Arsenal?

In our view, Arteta should give Aubameyang another chance and keep him in the squad until the end of the season at least.

Arsenal are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four this season, and Aubameyang could still play a big role.
