The Tottenham Hotspur winger is reportedly the target of Italian side Hellas Verona but he left Dani Alves at sixes and sevens earlier this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou is a loan target for Hellas Verona, but given the Frenchman’s pre-season form, Spurs would be foolish to part company with him so soon.

N’Koudou struggled for game time in his first season in North London. However he still showed glimpses of his undeniable talent even if his only start – against Liverpool in the EFL Cup – was a disappointing affair.

This summer was always going to be vital for the 22-year-old, who finally had a full pre-season under his belt, and his friendly performances suggested he was ready to prove his doubters wrong.

N’Koudou was one of the few Tottenham players to finish the game against Manchester City with any credit, while his first-half showing against Paris Saint-Germain’s Dani Alves showed just what a handful he can be on his day.

With the transfer window not going according to plan thus far, and the matches coming thick and fast for Tottenham this season, strength in depth is vital, and N’Koudou will no doubt be happy to bide his time if he knows chances will come, first from the bench and later from the outset if he excels.

Playing at Wembley means Tottenham have the space to utilise wingers and N’Koudou’s pace and trickery could go down a storm, especially against tired defences.

Instead it seems Verona are working on a deal to bring him to Italy on a temporary basis, and one wonders if he will follow the likes of Clinton N’Jie in being dispatched before he had the chance to prove his worth.
