N’Koudou now has the chance to belatedly prove his worth to Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur did not part company with the winger this summer so he has at least a few more months to stake a claim.

For much of the summer, rumours persisted that Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou was set for the chop after a less than inspiring first season at White Hart Lane.

However, the transfer window came and went without the 22-year-old moving on, either on loan or permanently, and as a result he has at least a few more months to prove his worth in North London.

N’Koudou only showed glimpses of his ability in the last campaign, with his one and only start against Liverpool proving he had a very long way to go. However, Tottenham’s pre-season matches suggested the Frenchman had turned a corner and he was one of their shining lights against both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

Since the new Premier League season kicked off, N’Koudou has slipped down the pecking order once more and is yet to make a match day squad. But the games will come thick and fast after the international break, with Tottenham’s EFL Cup and Champions League campaigns kicking off, so what chance a reprieve for the tricky winger?

With Fernando Llorente now in their ranks, Tottenham need wide players who can supply effective crosses for the imposing Spaniard, and if N’Koudou can work on his end product he could be that man.

The young winger has the natural ability to excel out wide and he just needs to know when to use his tricks and when to supply the final ball.

Tottenham were quick to cast Clinton N’Jie aside but N’Koudou has a while longer to ensure he does not follow the Cameroon international in making a swift exit from a club he only recently joined.
