The new Tottenham Hotspur signing can’t wait to get started at his new club.

New Tottenham Hotspur signing Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has spoken to the club website about his excitement at finally turning out for the Lilywhites, as well as opening up on the qualities he feels he can bring to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

And it is certainly exciting words the former Marseille star has for the White Hart Lane faithful, following a breakthrough season with Marseille where he scored 10 times in 41 matches.

“I’m really delighted to sign for this team,” Nkoudou told the Spurs website. “It’s a really great English club with a lot of ambition which is the reason I have moved here. There are lots of top class players here and the fans are incredible.

“I can’t wait to know the Premier League and the English game. It suits my playing style, it’s explosive. Everyone knows I’m fast, I like to dribble around players, so the English league is best for me. I’m excited and can’t wait to get started.

“With my speed, my dribbling.. I hope these qualities can help the team moving forward. In order to get my place in the team I need to show what I can do and not be shy on the pitch.”

The 21-year-old’s move has been one of the transfer sagas of the summer, if not in the history of transfer deadline days.

A deal was reported as good as done way back in the summer, with complications surrounding Marseille’s ownership, and the involvement of Clinton Njie as part of, or connected to any deal.

But finally, all of those hurdles can be consigned to jokes and banter, with the club now having a period of time to continue integrating the player into the club and Mauricio Pochettino’s tactics.

Nkoudou has been left out of France’s Under-21 side, having featured against Italy in June, and it is possible that supporters will get a look at their new man in the club’s next match against Stoke City.

As the winger states, he has demonstrated a searing pace and creative quality that has been missing for Spurs this season, and the player himself should be desperate to make an impression when he gets an opportunity to pull on the number 14 shirt for the first time.
