Tottenham Hotspur have a Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow this week.

Tottenham Hotspur take on CSKA Moscow this week in their final Champions League group game of the season knowing the best they can hope for is a third-place finish.

Even that may be beyond them depending on how Wednesday night’s encounter goes. But whatever the evening has in store, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino would be wise to give some of his younger players a chance to impress.

At risk is a place in the Europa League, but is that really something to worry about given the demands of Thursday night football, especially for a side still hoping to challenge for the Premier League title?

With that in mind, here are three young Tottenham players Pochettino should start:

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou

French winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has had to wait patiently for his chances this season but he could get his first European start this week.

While there is plenty to work to do he has the raw talent to excel at White Hart Lane and he deserves the chance to put his poor performance against Liverpool in the EFL Cup behind him.

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Teenager centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers has started two league cup matches for Tottenham this season yet this week’s match could offer him his first opportunity against European opposition.

The 18-year-old has been praised to high heaven by his manager so now is Pochettino’s chance to show his faith on a big stage.

Josh Onomah

Fellow teenager Josh Onomah has had little chance to impress this season, featuring for just 11 minutes in the league and only a single minute in the Champions League to date.

Like Carter-Vickers he has had chances in the EFL Cup but he will be desperate for another opportunity from the kick off.
