N’Koudou and Sissoko could be vital from the bench for Tottenham against Leverkusen

Tottenham Hotspur play their fourth Champions League match of the season this evening.

Tottenham Hotspur take on Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League this evening with the North London club knowing there is all to play for.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men may have only taken four points from their first three matches, but with just one point separating them and group leaders AS Monaco, a victory at Wembley tonight will ensure top spot is well within their sights.

Leverkusen proved quite a challenge in the first outing and Tottenham had goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to thank for keeping a vital clean sheet in Germany, and considering the players on show it could be another tight encounter this time round.

With that in mind, the players Tottenham have on the bench could ultimately make the difference, so we consider two players who may be introduced late on if the game could still go either way.

The young French winger has looked impressive when he has come off the bench, most notably against CSKA Moscow earlier this season.

He has been less effective when starting, but if the game is tight expect Pochettino to throw N’Koudou on with 10 to 15 minutes remaining to scare Leverkusen’s back-line and potentially create space for the strikers to do some damage.

Tottenham's Moussa Sissoko

Deadline day signing Moussa Sissoko has divided opinion at Tottenham so far but his physicality could be vital in the closing stages.

Like N’Koudou, Sissoko is unlikely to start this match but he can add a different dimension in the final few minutes, using his strong running against tired defences to potentially create a key chance.
