Crystal Palace are ready to pay £10 million for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, but the Gunners want £20 million, according to The Athletic.

What’s the story?

The Athletic are reporting this morning (8am) that Palace are keen on signing Nketiah from London and Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The Eagles, now managed by Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, are ready to pay £10 million for the former Leeds United loanee.

However, Arsenal want £20 million for the 22-year-old.

The Gunners have tried to convince the young striker to sign a new contract, but they have failed in their quest so far.

Nketiah will become a free agent next summer.

Interestingly, the striker is actually injured at the moment.

Arsenal said on August 12 that the youngster has an injury to his right ankle and ‘is expected to be back in training in early September’.

What should Arsenal do?

Nketiah has failed to make a huge impact at Arsenal and is a squad player when he is fit.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are the two main strikers at Arsenal.

Folarin Balogun has also been promoted to the first team this season.

If the 22-year-old does not want to sign a new striker, then it would make sense for Arsenal to cash in on him now instead of losing him on a free next summer.
