Celtic beat Dundee on Saturday, days after their biggest result of the season.

Speaking to The Scottsh Sun, Nir Bitton has revealed the pearls of wisdom used by Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers before Saturday’s 1-0 win at Dundee.

Celtic edged Dundee at the weekend as Scott Brown’s 47th-minute winner proved enough to give the Hoops their sixth Premiership win in seven games – the other being a 2-2 draw at Inverness over two weeks ago.

But it was not easy for Rodgers’s side on Saturday, a fact illustrated by their victory by the odd goal, and it was somewhat surprising given their result in midweek.

Celtic held Premier League leaders Manchester City to a 3-3 draw at Parkhead in the Champions League during the week – a brilliant performance against Pep Guardiola’s side.

In theory, the visit to Dundee should have been easier that it was, but Bitton has claimed an adjustment was needed, revealing that Rodgers stressed the need to switch up their mentality for such a low-key opponent in comparison to City.

He told The Scottish Sun: “He told us we had to make the adjustment and we did it.

“He said it’s all about mentality. Sometimes you can think because you drew against Man City it’s going to be easy.

“But it doesn’t work like that. These games are always difficult and you have to work hard.”

Rodgers is proving quite a hit in Glasgow. His stock dropped after being sacked by Liverpool 11 months ago, having failed to help the club kick on after coming so close to Premier League glory in 2014, but the Northern Irishman is rebuilding his reputation in Scotland.
