Forrest, who has endured injury problems in recent years, has netted four times in six Premiership starts this season – he has never scored more than four in a single season.
He has long been regarded as a player with potetial, and at long last he seems to be fulfilling it on a regular basis, with his display in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Dundee simply the latest in a series of eye-catching outings so far this season.
Should he maintain his red-hot form, the Israel midfielder believes that his Celtic team-mate will only get much better, and claims that he is good enough for any side in England’s top flight.
“When I came to Celtic, my first interviews were about James,” he told The Scottish Sun. “For me he can play for any team in the Premier League.
“He is the kind of person people pay money to watch because he’s fast and he’s exciting to see. If he continues like this he will have a bright future, in club football and for Scotland.
“He’s in form now and he needs to continue like that.”
