Benfica midfielder Andreas Samaris is reportedly wanted by Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
Premier League club Newcastle have been linked with a move for Benfica midfielder Samaris in the summer transfer window.
A recent report in O Jogo has claimed that Rafael Benitez’s side have made a bid of £13.2 million, but the Portuguese giants are holding out for at least £17.5m (click here to read more).

Former Newcastle and Greece international central defender Dabizas, who is now 43 years of age, has backed Samaris to be a success at St. James’ Park.
“He is a Greek international and a very good athlete,” Dabizas told The Chronicle about Samaris. “He has the right mentality to play for Newcastle.”
“To play for Newcastle you have to have the skills and the mentality,” added Dabizas. “There are many good players in the world.
“But they have to find those players who have the right requirements. Can you play in front of a 50,000 passionate crowd?
“Your mentality will be tested. Andreas has that. A midfielder needs to be able to handle being able to dictate the pace in the games.”
Newcastle will feature in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
The Magpies will be aiming to finish in the top 10 of the Premier League next season, but it is going to be hard for Rafael Benitez’s side.
