Spurs target Ademola Lookman hasn’t been helped by Nikola Vlasic’s arrival at Everton.

Tottenham Hotspur would have a right to feel a little frustrated if Nikola Vlasic continues his promising start to life at Everton. Because the former Hajduk Split winger, who cost The Toffees £10 million in the summer (BBC), snubbed the chance to make the move to Spurs back in 2014.
“I never eyed the money behind big transfers, I was always looking at how to improve and what could help me improve”, an 18-year-old Vlasic told Sports Gazette. “Just for fun I told my father ‘yeah sure let’s go to England’ but honestly I couldn’t picture myself there, yet. I was only focusing on Hajduk.”
“Now I feel much more mature and when Everton showed interest I didn’t hesitate at all.”
However, Spurs could eventually stand to benefit from missing out on one of Europe’s brightest attacking talents. If Ademola Lookman was struggling for opportunities at Goodison Park before, he will not be helped by the addition of another young winger fighting for a place.

And it just so happens that a Tottenham side who, like Everton, are on the lookout for some of the country’s top young talents, harbour hopes of bringing Lookman to North London in the near future, per The Mirror.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a dream start to his Everton career after joining from Charlton Athletic for £11 million in January, scoring on his debut in a 4-0 thrashing of Manchester City.

Despite starring at the Under-20 World Cup and impressing in pre-season, however, Lookman has fallen down the pecking order without a Premier League appearance to his name all season.
The arrival of Vlasic, therefore, could further restrict the South London local’s hopes of first-team football on Merseyside. Could Spurs missing out on the 20-year-old back in 2014 inadvertently help them land one of England’s hottest prospects in the current day?
