West Ham United will hold talks with Fiorentina on Monday over the signing of Nikola Milenkovic, according to TMW.

It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that West Ham are keen on signing Milenkovic from Fiorentina in the summer transfer window.

The Italian club are willing to sell the 23-year-old Serbia international central defender and have a replacement in Matija Nastasic lined up.

West Ham and Fiorentina will hold new talks tomorrow and will hope to reach a final agreement.

Would Milenkovic make West Ham better?

West Ham could do with a new and young defender, especially as they will play in the Europa League this season.

The Hammers will also aim to challenge for the Premier League top four.

Manager David Moyes does need a strong squad, and Milenkovic would be a very good addition to the team, not just for now, but for years to come as well.

The Serbian central defender has “incredible potential”, according to comments from former Partizan director Ivica Iliev in Labora Viola in February 2021.

Interestingly, the 23-year-old also scores goals.

Milenkovic made 34 appearances in Serie A last season.

The 6ft 5in central defender scored three goals and gave one assist in those games.

Milenkovic scored five goals in 37 league games in 2019-20, and found the back of the net thrice in Serie A in 2018-19.

The defender won the Serbian SuperLiga and the Serbian Cup with Partizan in 2017.
