Jokic’s display against the Spurs placed him in a category of his own. According to StatMuse, he became the first player in the three-point era to record 40 or more points, 10 or more assists and three or more blocks in a game with zero turnovers.
The three-point line was introduced in the 1979-80 season, so it was the first time in over 40 years that a player had these numbers.
He finished with 40 points, 13 assists, eight rebounds and three blocks. The absence of turnovers highlighted his control and efficiency throughout a high-pressure contest.
Producing that level of output without giving away possession is rare in itself, but doing so while dominating across scoring, playmaking and defence underscores Jokic’s unique impact.
The performance adds another layer to his MVP argument, especially given the quality of opposition.

After the game, Jokic reflected on what he tries to adapt when playing against Wembanyama. The Frenchman’s length and defensive presence present a distinct challenge for opposing players.
“I think it’s just about a little bit more arc in your shot,” he began by saying.
“I think I’ve opened the game really well and the whole game was kinda flowing in that direction, so I don’t know if I did something different.”
Jokic ultimately took control in overtime, scoring six of Denver’s 12 points. On the other hand, Wembanyama managed two of San Antonio’s 10.
