Glasgow Rangers winger Niko Kranjcar has not played for the Ibrox side since October.

Niko Kranjcar has insisted that he will be available for the start of Rangers’ Europa League campaign and suggested that he is looking at his upcoming return as a new beginning for his Ibrox spell, the Evening Times reports.

The Gers have just over a month to prepare for the start of their return to continental competition with the first leg of the first qualifying round of the Europa League set for the final Thursday in June.

And it appears that Pedro Caixinha’s men are set to be boasted heading into the game with Kranjcar confirming that he should be ready for the tie, having not featured since October due to a cruciate knee injury, and suggesting that he is extremely optimistic about his Gers future.

“I will be fully fit in a month and hope to be ready for the start of qualifying for the Europa League,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.

“We did not want to take any chances with my knee, but I have been feeling good and I have worked very, very hard.

“This feels like a new beginning for me at Rangers.”

The 32-year-old’s desire to make the most of the opportunity he may be about to receive may please the Light Blues supporters who are somewhat sceptical about the Croatian’s chances of proving a success at Ibrox.

The former Premier League man only showed brief glimpses of his true quality following his arrival last summer, and was only really looking like he was starting to adapt to the Scottish Premiership in the weeks leading up to his season-ending injury.

But with a clear determination to prove himself, the playmaker may perhaps now be able to make the kind of impact that he only threatened to make during the opening months of his Ibrox spell.
