Jordan Henderson has withdrawn from the England squad ahead of their trip to San Marino due to injury.
As per the Three Lions’ official website this morning, the Liverpool captain is one of four players to drop out of the team for England’s final 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifer.
Gareth Southgate’s side just need one point to guarentee their spot in Qatar next year. Yet Henderson will not feature against San Marino, with the Liverpool captain now out with injury.
It is not specified what injury Henderson has picked up. With the Liverpool maestro scoring for England in their 5-0 thrashing of Albania earlier in the week.
The midfielder, who signed for Liverpool in 2011 for a reported fee of £20m, is the latest to sucoomb to injury in the squad. With Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and James Milner all out on the treatment table.
With Liverpool facing Arsenal next Saturday, losing Henderson to injury could be a big blow for the Reds against a side who are flying high in the Premier League.
