Vitezslav Jaros has been singing the praises of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones.

The 20-year-old has rose through the ranks at Liverpool’s academy to become a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s senior squad.

Jaros has witnessed Jones’s rise to prominence up close.

And as a goalkeeper, the 20-year-old Czech has described training sessions with the star as a ‘nightmare, claiming that his shooting ability is simply a ‘joke’.

He told Goal.com: “Curtis was one of those players you look at straight away and think ‘yeah he’s going to do something big’.

“As long as he kept his head on his shoulders he was always going to make it, and he’s done that, credit to him.

“He was a nightmare as a goalkeeper because his shooting is a joke, he loves those long-rangers into the top corner, with either foot!”

Worry

Jones hasn’t been doing a lot of training as of late.

And that’s because the young starlet has been absent with a worrying eye injury.

Klopp confirmed that Jones suffered the issue following a freak collision on the training ground.

But Jaros is right – when fit, he is a joke.

Remember, this is a player who announced himself to Liverpool fans with a long-range pearler in a Merseyside derby win over Everton a few years ago.

That right there indicated that Jones was a player to watch and he’s been going from strength to strength since then.

It remains to be seen when Klopp will get him back.

But Liverpool, as always, have a hectic December schedule and no doubt it’ll be a big boost if he’s available for selection again in time for this run-in.
