Chris Sutton has said on BBC 606 that Steven Gerrard’s Rangers will not want to play against Celtic in the Scottish Cup.
Rangers have been drawn against bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Cup last-16 tie this season.
The tie will be played at Ibrox later this month, and former Celtic striker Sutton has said that the Gers will find it a nightmare.
Sutton said on BBC 606: “Do you know what? I think that that draw is an absolute nightmare for Rangers. I think it’s a nightmare for Rangers. They have been fortunate with the home draw, they often are with these types of things in cup competitions, but they will be quaking in their boots.”
Strange claim
Sutton is a former Celtic striker, and there is no wonder that he thinks that Rangers will be worried about facing the Hoops.
While all teams would like an easier route to success, Rangers will not be scared against Celtic.

In fact, the Gers could find it very motivating to end the Hoops’ season by knocking them out of the Scottish Cup.
Rangers have already won the Scottish Premiership this season and fared better than the Bhoys in the Europa League.
Even if the Gers lose the tie and Celtic eventually go on to win the Scottish Cup, Gerrard and his players will know that they will still have had the better season.
