Norwich City and Leeds United will face each other in the Championship this afternoon.

Nigel Worthington said on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (broadcast from 6pm, November 4, 2016) that both Norwich City and Leeds United can get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Both Norwich and Leeds are playing in the Championship this season.

While the Canaries got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, the West Yorkshire outfit have not featured in the top flight of English football since 2004.

Worthington, who played for Leeds in the 1990s and managed Norwich from 2000 until 2006, believes that both the clubs can get promoted.

The Canaries and the Whites will face each other at Carrow Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

“I think there’s certainly a chance for both,” said Worthington on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (broadcast from 6pm, November 4, 2016) when asked if Norwich and Leeds will get promoted.

“I think it’s going to be a very tough game for Norwich City tomorrow, I really do,” added the former Northern Ireland international.

Norwich are fourth in the Championship table at the moment with 27 points from 15 matches.

Alex Neil’s side are just four points behind second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion and are in the running for automatic promotion.

Meanwhile, Leeds currently find themselves 10th in the standings with 23 points from 15 games, just a point behind Bristol City, who are sixth in the table and occupy the final playoff spot.
