The result means that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are now second in the league table with 76 points from 39 matches.
The Whites are five points behind leaders Norwich City and two ahead of third-placed Sheffield United, who went down 3-2 to Bristol City at home in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Former Leeds goalkeeper Martyn has taken to Twitter to revel in the win for the West Yorkshire outfit, and he has also urged the players to keep it up.
It was not easy for Leeds to win against Millwall, but in front of a strong Elland Road crowd, Bielsa’s side got the job done.
Leeds will return to action next weekend when they take on Birmingham City away from home in the Championship.
Bielsa’s side will be confident of winning the match against Birmingham and maintaining their chances of clinching automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
