Leeds United were beaten 1-0 by Reading at Elland Road yesterday.

Former England goalkeeper Nigel Martyn plays in goal alongside James Anderson during a football game ahead of a nets session at Headingley on August 23, 2017 in Leeds, England.

Nigel Martyn has tweeted that he was very impressed with the new facilities at Elland Road, but he was disappointed with Leeds United’s defeat to Reading.

Martyn was invited by Leeds to come and watch the Whites to take on Reading yesterday, and see the renovated stand in all its glory.

However, Martyn’s day was soured somewhat by the fact that Leeds were beaten by the Royals.

Leeds’ performance against Reading was poor, and they could have little complaints about the defeat.

Modou Barrow scored Reading’s winner late on, with a well placed finished.

Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Cardiff City and Leeds United at Cardiff City Stadium on September 26, 2017 in Cardiff, Wales.

The goal came in controversial fashion, with Leeds feeling that there had been a foul in the build up, but their defending at the crucial moment was woeful.

Pablo Hernandez did have the chance to rescue Leeds from defeat, but he fluffed his lines when given a chance to level things up from the spot.

Leeds have now lost their last three matches in succession, and have slipped down into sixth place in the Championship table.
