Leeds United should look at Brighton and Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town, says Nigel Martyn.

Nigel Martyn has told bwin that Leeds United should look at Brighton and Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town as inspiration to get promoted to the Premier League.

Both Brighton and Huddersfield are playing in the Premier League this season after winning promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Both the Seagulls and the Terriers deservedly won promotion from the second tier of English football last season.

While both Brighton and Huddersfield are expected to fight for survival in the Premier League, at the moment they are above the relegation zone.

Former Everton goalkeeper Martyn has said that Leeds should look at Brighton and Huddersfield as inspiration to get promoted to the Premier League.

The former Leeds star has underlined the need for the Whites to be consistent this season.

“The thing with a club like Leeds is that if they got into the Premiership, they could really kick on with the fan-base and size of the club,” Martyn told bwin.

“To get there, they need to look at the likes of Brighton and Huddersfield who were consistent through the season and showed what can be achieved with a tight-knit group.”

Leeds have made a strong start to the 2017-18 Championship campaign and are at the top of the table at the moment.

The Whites will face Ipswich Town at Elland Road in the league on Saturday afternoon.
