Nigel Farage took to social media after England kicked off their 2026 World Cup with a 4-2 win over Croatia.

The Three Lions looked shaky at times during the first half but eventually found their rhythm to earn what proved to be a relatively comfortable three points.

Shortly after the game the Leader of Reform UK, Nigel Farage, took to X/Twitter to share photos of himself in a pub with an England shirt on. However, a number of the replies to the tweet saw Farage criticised, with several pointing out he had used old photos of himself from a previous tournament.

Fans say Nigel Farage used old photos when posting about England’s win over Croatia

One fan replied by sharing the old photos of Farage, which were taken when England were playing Denmark at Euro 2024.

He wrote: “Nigel Farage is such a man of the people, that he arranged for everyone he was in the pub with to watch England play Denmark in 2024, to get back together in the same clothes to watch England play Croatia in the 2026 World Cup. What a guy!”

Another stated: “A two-year-old photo of you pretending to like football during the Euros. You’re such a fake.”

“Great job lads. You’ve posted a pic from 2024 you fake —-,” added a third.

A fourth commented: “The unmistakable stench of a desperate need for attention.”

Another added: “Incredible that you managed to be in the same pub with the flags in the exact same place with the same people next to you from the Euros two years ago.”

While a sixth tweeted: “A picture from the Euros, lies, lies, lies again from uncle Nigel.”

In the tweet itself, Farage wrote: “Proper job. @England”

England next take to the field on Tuesday evening against Ghana, before rounding out their group phase versus Panama next Saturday.
