Hull City manager Nigel Adkins has told The Hull Daily Mail that he did not want Michael Dawson to leave for Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.

Dawson joined Forest in the summer of 2018 after leaving Championship rivals Hull City at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

The English defender started his professional club football career at Forest before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2005.

Hull signed the 35-year-old from Tottenham in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £3.5 million.

Adkins has said that he did not want Dawson to leave Hull for Championship rivals Forest in the summer transfer window.

The former Southampton and Sheffield United manager made the comments ahead of Hull’s Championship match against Forest at home on Saturday afternoon.

Dawson is 35 years of age, but the former Tottenham defender is doing relatively well for Forest in the Championship at the moment.

The Englishman has made five starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for Forest so far this season, according to WhoScored.
